Song Suggestions

The Gabe Dixon Band-All Will Be Well
I like the lines:
"All the children walking home past the factories
Can see the light thats shining in my window as I write this song to you
And all the cars running fast along the interstate
Can feel the love that radiates, illuminating what I know is true"

You'll notice the song link above is to a youtube video, which is a photo montage of Pittsburgh. It's a small world!

Hiroshima (B-B-Benny Hits His Head)
Song about Ben hitting his head while opening a show in Japan. Love this song. Listen to the words, it's just a story, a funny one too!

BEN FOLDS in COLUMBUS!

Sooooo! Jeremiah and I went to Columbus this Saturday to see my all-time favorite dude play a show. Ben Folds. I'm sure you have heard me go on and on about him.

I didn't think I'd be so swoony/dumb teenager like about the whole experience, but I was just like the little teenager girls trying to see him outside the venue while we were waiting to get in...looking for his tour bus...squealing when they finally let us into the venue... It was probably embarassing for Jeremiah, but he handled it well. He was smiling the whole time too, so I think he was more excited than he let on.

So here's the worst part about the whole trip (other than the absolute GOD AWFUL hotel we stayed at. So expensive and so freaking cheap):
I FORGOT TO TAKE MY CAMERA OUT OF MY PURSE, SO SECURITY TOOK MY BATTERIES!!! NO PHOTOS, NO VIDEO, I FEEL SICK JUST THINKING ABOUT IT.

Regardless, I found some video on youtube. Turns out this video was taken by the people next to us: Landed
I think you can hear me singing. And I always hated those chicks that sing along the whole concert. But I so did it. I also cried.
He opened up with the 'fake' Bit
ch Went Nutz which was hilarious. "I took her with me to the Christmas office party... Mistake!"
He played Kate later in the night. Everyone loved that. My kids like that song a lot. Listen to the guys singing along with this. There were so many more dudes there than I expected!

This video wasn't from the show I went to, but was from the P
ittsburgh show I couldn't attend. Awesome sound (probably cause it was a very small club). I heard the show was super crowded and very uncomfortable, but this video makes it look awesome. Hiroshima

Here's the only photo I got that night, Jeremiah waiting out in line in the freezing rain with me just so I could see Ben Folds in concert. Turns out he came out after the show and signed autographs...I went straight home to bed and totally missed that. I wasn't even thinking!!!!! Ugh!

Super Soup! ! ! ! !

I never thought I would be much of a 'cooker' (as Olivia calls me). I was not really interested in making food, I liked a lot of raw food and have been a vegetarian on and off for most of my life. But a couple years ago I started baking with the kids (never very good at it) and then moved into working with more ingredients and learning basic techniques (making gravy, how to use oil in cooking, how to use different spices, which pots and pans you use for what dishes).
I'm still not a great cook, but I'm proud of the fact that I can make new things and they aren't totally gross.
So, I made spicy miso soup with fish, scallops and mussels last night. It was super good and the broth tasted really authentic. I was very proud of myself. I served it over Udon noodles (the ones you can get at Walmart aren't that great). Jeremiah really seemed to enjoy it too!

Blurry But Amazing

Everybody knows I hate my camera, but sometimes the bad photos turn out beautifully.
I wish they were a tad clearer, but it's pretty with the shading and the light coming in the window.

Rose and Elijah are very close and spend a lot of time together. She calls him 'The Prince of All Princes". How romantic. So here's some accidentally beautiful photos of a loving big sister and an adoring baby brother for you to enjoy this Valentine's Day:

Rose is a Rock Star...Max is a LadyBug?

It's not Halloween. Rose went to a sleepover where they had makeovers, and Max came downstairs in the morning dressed like that. She wore it all day and cried when I took it off her at bedtime. Oh boy.
